Dr. Rosen is a Board Certified Internist specializing in eating
disorders as well as general internal medicine. A magna cum laude graduate of Duke University with a BS in
psychology, Dr. Rosen received his M.D. degree from the Emory University School
of Medicine. He then completed his
residency training in internal medicine at Emory.
Dr. Rosen’s
interest lies in the nutritional and medical aspects of eating disorders across
the spectrum from underweight to overweight. His strong interest in mental health led him to this
specialized field.
On-site physical examinations, weight monitoring, EKG's, blood
work, as well as his unique and friendly approach to nutritional consultations
are available. Dr. Rosen served as a Board Member of the
National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA) of Long Island and he
frequently lectures to the public and health care providers on eating
disorders. In 2008, Dr. Rosen joined Dr. Jeffrey DeSarbo in the Garden City office of the NY Eating Disorder Medical Group, where he is currently
the Director of Medical and Nutritional Services.
Dr. Rosen has an extensive background as a medical communicator. In additional to his clinical work, Dr. Rosen has been a medical journalist since 1994. He appeared regularly on Good Day Atlanta, was medical editor and correspondent for WPXI (NBC) in Pittsburgh, Pa, was senior medical correspondent for WCBS-TV, and appeared regularly on CBS network programming, including CBS’s overnight news program Up To The Minute and The Early Show. Dr. Rosen was also the managing editor and correspondent for Daily HealthFeed, a syndicated nightly medical news report appearing on 50 affiliates nationwide. Dr. Rosen has been a feature medical reporter for WCBS NewsRadio 880, wrote a column for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, and continues to appear as a consulting physician on Fox News Channel and Fox News.com.

is serene, with comfortable seating, a 150-gallon fish aquarium and relaxation music from the sound system.
Dr. Rosen has a friendly, open demeanor, and utilizes his 20+ years of
experience as a medical doctor to make patients feel comfortable and
nurtured. Dr. Rosen provides
unique perspectives to provide the patient with new ways of seeing and
understanding their disorder and to put issues in context. Dr. Rosen enjoys teaching, and uses
common sense truths to help patients see and approach their problems in new
ways. Dr. Rosen frequently takes
his patients on field trips to grocery stores and supermarkets, and often has therapeutic meal sessions with his patients.
Dr. Rosen also
works in collaboration with some of the very best physicians, specialists,
therapists, and counselors to provide a thorough treatment plan in
the patient's best interest.
Routine laboratory work and monitoring, and prescription of medications often
play an important role in the proper diagnosis and treatment of any condition. Laboratory services and EKG monitoring
are available on premises as is metabolic testing (to see how many calories one
burns in a given day).
